Properties of Soy Wax
After extensive research, we decided to use 100% soy wax in our candles. Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. It is a safer alternative to paraffin wax candles as soy wax is eco-friendly, renewable, American grown, sustainable, and carbon neutral.
A humid or warm environment can sometimes cause the fragrance oils to sweat out of the wax. It will appear as if beads of liquid are on top of the candle. It may be lit even if “sweating”. If the environment changes they will disappear back into the wax.
Our candles are free of dyes with the exception of the seasonal scents. In candles with no dye you may see some natural discoloration at times. Heated wax from burning a candle will sometimes darken the wax.
When a 100% soy wax is exposed to temperatures below 70 degrees it may develop micro cracks in the wax. The cracks do not affect the performance of the candle and will disappear after the candle is lit. When the candle is warmed back up to 70 degrees and above, the cracks usually disappear. The colder the temperature, the more likely the candle will be subjected to deeper sized cracks.
These characteristics do not affect the performance of the candle, these are natural characteristics for soy wax.
